Art Monthly has interviewed hundreds of artists including John Baldessari, Hanne Darboven, Agnes Martin…It has also discovered and fostered many new writers, like Dawn Ades, John Roberts, Brandon Taylor… while continuing to publish the views of some of the most distinguished voices in British contemporary art of the last 30 years.But there were any cover about China and Hong Kong.

Bring out difficult theories：
As a HongKonger, I feel strange for UK & US background and culture, sometimes it is difficult to understand what the article want to bring out. Like, the ‘yBa’ phenomenon identify and debate by Simon Ford in a feature entitled ‘Myth Making’ published back in March 1996.Hong Kong readers, somehow, need to research the background of ‘yBa’, in order to understand the whole theory.

Words more than pictures (Black & white format)：
This magazine is for the art intellectual and for whose love contemporary art. Art Monthly is focusing on the view of Art Criticism, not in the beautiful picture like "Nation Geoagraphic"

Who advertises with the magazine?
(what is the ratio of critical writing / reviews to advertisements):
The advertisement are from exhibition (group or individual), gallery, also school award (Byam Shaw School of Art)...

Regular items in Art Monthly include lengthy feature articles, an editorial opinion column, extensive news briefings, exhibition reviews, book reviews, an art-law column and exhibition listings.

Occasional items include artist interviews, artist profiles, reviews of artists' books, films, performance, internet art, art market reports from major auctions and reports from particular events such as festivals, conferences and biennales.
